Layoff going on in Synechron ?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Best of luck! Hopefully it’s not that but something else (wanting to check in on a more personal level). Keep us posted!
Don’t lash out. Be understanding saying you know there is a lot going on and they are having to make tough decisions. You really like this company and you can see yourself really providing value. Say should market conditions change please consider me again as I would love to work for this company
Thank you pwc1. Even before I said that, they said they would love to have me back.
Hi there, it happened. But I answered very positively. They said it definitely isn’t my performance and If things get better they would love to have me back. It’s just unfortunate because my utilization when lower this year which again wasn’t my fault. What should my next steps be?
Feel free to DM me if you want to chat!
Thank you all! Call in 3 minutes I’ll keep you all updated. Appreciate all the support
Your manager does not have the authority to lay you off
Well don’t let us down. Post on here the outcome.
Are you currently billable? You’re fine. Is HR or anyone else on it? If not, you’re fine.
No I’m not. My utilization has been extremely low to null this first quarter
It’s going to suck but by taking the high road you can position yourself a lot better in the long run. I’m sorry if you do get laid off. Hang in there. Things will get better
I’m so sorry OP. A great opportunity is ahead of you! We aren’t hiring right now but as soon as we are I will send you a message. You will get through this ♥️
I was working with RPA development and I have previous experience with Workday development. I’m willing to stay with any of these technologies or make a switch. Thank you so much for all the wholesome comments.
🙏 💪🏼🙏💪🏼
Too early for layoffs. Best of luck.
This is the kind of thing I’d do, completely forgetting individual anxieties and instead focusing on optimizing for limited time.
There’s obviously some context your manager has, which you don’t yet have.
(Edit: I see that it’s a startup. Still, don’t worry too much — even if the news isn’t great, there will be a path forward.)
Don't worry OP. Stay positive.
Also.... take a breath, and good luck
I think plenty of places are still hiring. What's your area of expertise, years of exp, highest degree, etc? Maybe folks can add recommendations for firms hiring in your area with that info
I don't work in that area so I don't know of any openings first-hand, but I'm happy to help with a system referral if you see something posted for BAH. Good luck!
dm me if your are interested in referral. We have a technology consulting practice and the firm has some RPA work. What you are going through sucks but I’d have to say you handled this situation very gracefully. :) March on!
It seems like you’re on a project, so you’re fine! Maybe he has nothing to discuss with the others.
I’m not. All my projects are on hold atm :(((
Please give us an update when you hear more. Good luck!
How do I approach this if get let go? What’s an appropriate way to respond?
I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t turn out as you hoped, op. Best luck with your future endeavors. With the times being what it is, depending on the cost, cobra might be worth it
Good luck! Remember even if you do get laid off it means that your firm wasn’t in good shape in the first place. It hasn’t even been a month and they’re already trying for workforce reduction?
Not true KPMG1, firms are being proactive rather than reactive. Financial projections and common sense tell us about the actual outcomes to come.
