You have to ask what benefit these two are getting out of making a video like this. It’s either other states stirring up trouble or some other influence (russia/china). I’m convinced of that.
Sounds kooky but maybe we’ll find out at some point in the future. Thanks to the individual with the laugh emoji
They are complaining about not seeing any cops around while filming the Lands End parking lot. Most of the bad footage is from the Tenderloin and Union Square, which is not too surprising as that's where a lot of tourists stay.
Anyway, I have nothing against the Misha, I actually watch her every once in a while because she's a conservative voice. But yeah, I don't think this is a completely accurate representation unless you are poor and have to live in low-income neighborhoods. In that case, it's accurate.
It seems the problem in San Francisco is like in every major city - there are certainly areas to avoid. And I agree, it got worse since the pandemic, but there are multiple safe and nice areas in SF (e.g. Golden Gate Park, Hayes Valley, Russian hill, literally almost any district except for soma, tenderloin, partly market street). I don’t want to downplay it but I think that a lot of media is exaggerating it. I would try to comfort her by saying you know exactly which areas are safe and you will avoid the ones that are not..
Tell them to stop listening to dumb people online. It's highly exaggerated. Don't go to the Tenderloin or Hunters Point. Don't leave stuff in your car. You're fine
Agreed this isn’t a fair or accurate representation of the city as a whole. There are bad neighborhoods to avoid just like in every city. And some areas are emptier since the pandemic because compared to other industries, more tech workers are still partially or fully remote. But tourists can still come and have a great time- just avoid sketchy areas and don’t leave anything in your car.
Also objectively speaking, rates of violent crime, i.e. shootings that kill people, are much higher in other cities that don’t get any hate. Trash-talking SF is almost a hobby at this point that a lot of outlets do (including liberal east coast channels) because it gets them clicks.
When I heard the first few lines I was convinced they were talking about New Orleans. I realized they weren't when they were able to finish the video without being (a) mugged, (b) raped, or (c) shot. Tell mama Frisco is still one of the most beautiful cities in America and that you promise not to take her to a gay leather bar or a LSD-fueled orgy. All big cities have big city problems. Residents know where to go and where not to go, especially at certain times of the day. Stick to the trolleys and the Bay Area, hit the hot tourist spots, get a bowl of rice-a-roni (the San Francisco treat) and have a good time with your mama. Also, as a "Yat" from "Nawlins," it's not really that bad. After all, we all have to die sometime, right? (Yat: because people in this part of the city are prone to ask "Where Yat? meaning "Where are you at." Nawlins: the local pronunciation of New Orleans.)
That’s why I carry, some of these bay area cities are out of control and you can’t rely on cops to keep you safe
Meh I tend to agree with people above who said people are making these videos to get a reaction because it benefits them to do so. I don't think this is a fair representation of San Fran at all.
