Mac, they almost never spring for comparable PCs, plus work PCs always seem to have more issues, freezing and restarts, at least that's been my experience
Make sure they give you a Starbucks monthly membership if you choose Apple.

I prefer macs, but I’m biased I’m an apple fanboy and I worked on mac for a few years as a coder
Had the same choice. If your work isn’t THAT excel-heavy (i.e., no true financial modeling), I would go Mac. Having to use the mouse a few times in excel is a small price to pay for using a Mac. That said, if you’re junior or going to be living in Excel, maybe go PC. PPT on a Mac is fine.
2 extra screens is plenty. I never used my third
Programming / software development —> mac.
Excel/PPT —> windows
If you’re doing super heavy excel pc is 100% the way to go
ppt is comparable

I am right-brained and have never had to do a power query. I have used VBA but not often. Good to know, thanks SC3.
I really wish I’d had the option for my new firm. I’m back on a PC after being all Apple for years.
I love Mac! But I’ve been an exclusive Mac user for 30 years (other than firm issued PCs), so I’m a little biased.
Mac. They last longer. Especially M1s.
PCs start losing their oomph within 12-18 of their first boot.

I’ve used Mac for 17 years and my new position will be giving me a PC. I’m excited for a few shortcuts, but damn.. I’m going to miss the apple eco system.
The only real differentiator in our line of work is the lack of availability for Microsoft Project or Visio without using parallels. Some clients require them, so make sure you have that option!
I already use draw.io and Jira, but some clients require the MS project files or Visio format for our deliverables. Additionally, they require plugins for those tools.
Like I said, parallels works in that case.

Mac for sure. You can do all the same stuff in Excel/PPT.
