Atlanta office, but that’s hardly important as my team is spread across the US - though, most of us are Southeast

What is travel requirement?

Due to COVID we’ve all been WFH since it began. Travel requirements will be based on PwC (TBD) and Client (as many people are starting to recognize the benefits of WFH). Before COVID, it depends on the project/client. If traveling is required by the project, then it’s typically M-Th, and usually domestic.

Could you explain what you mean by bonus? Is the firm paying people to obtain these certs?

Rebranding from “advisory” to “consulting” is hardly revolutionary. Honestly it almost feels like it wasn’t worth doing (like I’m behind the overall restructuring effort, but we could have just left the name as “advisory solutions” and gotten the same outcome with less confusion).

Can we talk about the “Rise & Grind” / “Hustle Culture” aspect that seems to be organically baked into our role as Producers. Of course, it is what it is to some degree- but I’ve realized, in order to do my job effectively, my rest & work-life balance is a MUST. How have you handled that? Or do you just power through?

Need help with a very entry-level career decision… Long-term goal: Product Management/Product Marketing for tech company. 0-1 YOE. 1: CDP Analyst at Accenture, TC ~93 with sign on bonus. No 401k matching first year, 6% after. 2: Sales for CPG (PepsiCo/Unilever/P&G), basically partnering with e-commerce platforms to manage sales and product. Easy job and we get a car on top of TC of $81K (although only 71 of that is base). I know the numbers are both rookie, but I’m fresh outta college.

3+ years into the my role in the Google Cloud Sales Org, got promoted once (now at L6) but after seeing how calibrations are being done + how many new L7s, and L8s they are bringing into the org instead of promoting internally. I have a strong feeling that it is much easier get to L7 via going external for a few years and come back vs. putting in super hard work and hoping for 2-3 years of EEs+ to get to L7. Love to hear thoughts on this.

For those considering exiting biglaw for an in-house litigation position, say at a big tech company, what are the usual exit options from there? Would they be foreclosed from returning to a firm as a litigator later on, given they’d likely fall behind peers on lit skills / experience. Relatedly, do in-house litigation teams ever take depos, handle hearings, write briefs, etc? Any input on this would be helpful.

I have an exit offer to a major PharmaCo, really excited about the offer and company in another state. The problem is that the start date is right when my wife is due with our first child. Normally nbd, but we just found out that my wife has developed a heart condition because of the pregnancy. OBGYN and Cardiologist both have said that it would be ultra high risk for to move before the baby comes and will be safe 1-2month after. Tips moving the start date without getting the offer pulled?

Thinking of moving to Australia or England (I have family in both places and can work there legally). I’m a software developer and I’m trying to decide if I should stay in consulting or go to industry and work somewhere like google etc or maybe a start up (haven’t decided). Tech companies outside of the US pay less than the US (I think). What is better long term career wise and $$ wise, to stay in consulting or go to a tech company? (Based on living in either one of those countries).
