My search keeps turning up roles tied to deal volume targets that sound way heavier than my current workload. The experience upside is real, but lifestyle drop is obvious. I’m early enough that training still matters though. Did anyone intentionally choose a higher-volume firm for skill growth and feel it paid off?

Yes! If you’re young and don’t have a family at home to take care of now is the time to make this step. You’ll find taking on this workload as you get older more and more difficult.

I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted. The comparable positions at my company are filled by one of the big executive search firms. Any recommendations for finding the rare executive-level legal positions or for landing on the radar of the big executive search firms would be much appreciated!

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.
