I would really just try to remove yourself from being in the middle and let them hash it out. At the end of the day we are all adults and they are too big and grown to be acting that way in the workplace. I would definitely recommend staying as far out of it as you can.
This is so inappropriate for a SECRETARY
my guess is if you document her (especially outrageous bullshit like that ) and get it to your supervisor and HR, so you can get a different secretary and she can get out of the organization - that would be the way to go
Supervisor trumps secretary

I don’t want to get caught up in office politics. I just want to do my job and keep it moving. When it comes to power dynamics, I’m used to being the powerless employee at the bottom or the powerful lawyer at the top. I’ve never been in the middle before. With them both being older white women, that makes it even harder to navigate because I don’t know who to trust
DO NOT trust either of them
Are you Just venting (which is fine of course)? Or do you have a question?

Thanks for responding. I’m asking for advice on how to navigate my situation. I just don’t want anything to fall back on me because I’m in the middle.
I cover myself by following up on discussions with emails to make sure there’s a paper trail. I try to communicate clearly but my secretary is passive aggressive so any advice on dealing with passive aggressive people would be appreciated too
