My team has this subtle competition energy where people act helpful, but you can tell everyone’s watching credit and territory. It’s not openly toxic, just… tense. I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

How would someone coming from mostly retail wireless sales get into the tech sales industry? I have been a top performer in every sales job that I have had since I started my career almost 10 years ago. I don't have a degree which I feel might be keeping me from getting my foot in the door but I know I would be amazing in this field. I currently work out in the field selling to customers that have no idea I am coming and I consistently perform at the top of my market.

Howdy Sales Fishes - I’ve got an interview coming up and the recruiter prepared me by sharing that the interviewer may be low energy intentionally. Does any have a best practice for tactfully responding to this behavior or should I just persevere?
