Hi Fishes,
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Thanks

I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

My focus is terrible all the time, but I stream lofi music and find that it helps.
I don't..every 30min, i do something else for 10. Keeps me refreshed
I switched to a yealink headset, so I am busy around my house all day. I painted rooms and remodeled my stairs recently in-between calls. I just walk to my computer when a call comes in.
Great idea!
Take walks! Music on my breaks
Take short, frequent breaks in between. I can't focus much with lyric-heavy songs playing in the background so I stick with lo-fi instrumental music as a vessel for my thoughts. Having noise-cancelling headphones is also a huge plus.
What initially helped me get in the zone especially mornings is to treat it as if I'm getting ready for a regular work day by waking up early, getting dressed, albeit not so formally, and putting on makeup. Having a designated workspace free from any distractions is also great for retaining focus. Listening to repetitive music also is great for tuning out procrastinative tendencies.

Music and switch task every 30 minutes
Our claims inventory is so high, there is no down time except for the required 45 minute meal break.
It is really hard but I just have to put my nose down and grind. I find music to be very distracting. I do get up and stretch my legs several times per day just to get my eyes off the computer screen.
YouTube videos & music gets me through
I’m thinking of getting a remote job since I recently finished my retirement?
Congrats on your retirement! Is it difficult adjusting to the free time?
Listen to music. Get up every hour and take scheduled breaks. I’ll be honest that I don’t have much down time. I have to intensely focus most of the day or I can’t get through my claims load. It’s just too busy to not force myself to focus. I don’t have anything distracting near me.
I found it so important to step away from my work station and just go for a walk outside pr around the house. Well with music, I really couldn't focus much with it. I like silence when I work.
I really don't like working in a noisy surrounding so I just invested in some noise-cancelling headset because I just can't control the noise my neighbors make.
I have a short attention span. So I can't be completely focused on just one task in a day. I have to do something else in between. It works for me it's just that my jib takes longer time to finish.
I like to tune into some instrumentals or white noise on spotify. For white noise, I love listening to ocean waves or rainfall. Soothes me and just makes me want to focus on my work.
Music really helps you focus more. I also eat enough and prepare some snacks.
I put on some music in the background. And I get up to walk around the house usually every hour just to get my stand goal on my apple watch.
I get up and stretch every so often, step away to get fresh water, other small things to wake me up to stay focused. I found that if I stay at my desk and only walk away on designated breaks then I have a hard time making it through the day. I also used to have a 30 minute lunch and changed it to an hour because it allows me time to refresh and refocus by having that time for myself. I may have a longer day but it’s helped my productivity at work.
