Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Good office chair and $150 are mutually exclusive. Find a used Herman Miller or spend the money on a new one. Your body will thank you in 10 years.

Just spend the money and get a Herman Miller or Steelcase. Your body will thank you.
Pay $500-$600 for a refurbished Herman Miller. I spent at least that much buying $150-$200 chairs that didn't last or feel right. Bought a used Aeron and haven't regretted the spend for a second.
I got a used Herman Miller from eBay for that price (although that was just prior to the pandemic hitting so prices may well have gone up), but it was a great investment. The other thing I’d think about is making sure that if you buy a chair with hand rests they are adjustable height to fit with the desk height.

Can we expense the chair? Since I save office chair
Haworth Zody. But it's more than $200.

I'll sell you mine for $150
You can get away with a cheaper chair from Amazon, but get ergonomic support (i.e. seat cushion and lumbar support. I got a $175 one from Amazon and paid prob another $50 in the support and I’ve been very happy!
