I am currently on NP with around 25 days to go and would appreciate referrals for SDE2 to any company which could match the below quoted expectations.
New offered TC - 60lpa.
Expected TC - 35+ base and 60+ total TC. A slight paycut is also fine if the work is more at a large scale and the wlb is not terrible.

BD is relationship development. Relationship development works universally, and is not just professionally focused.
First thing, I’d stop treating it as something alien. You have family? SO? Friends? People you care about and want around? Same thing just different type of a relationship.
What do you do to start those relationships and keep them going?
1. You find “your” people. One of the biggest mistakes I see consultants do is try to develop relationships with people who are clearly not their cup of tea or vice versa. This could mean level, role, personality, location, interests, etc. The trick is to find the best person for them, not to force yourself be that person. Sincerity and authenticity matters.
2. You have to start somewhere and recognize relationships take time. People get frustrated when high level folks don’t engage, or clients are not responsive or you don’t go from hello to trusted advisor overnight. It takes time and consistent investment. Just like for most people, you don’t marry someone within 24 hours of meeting them, same concept.
3. You learn and remember what’s important to them - big events, their interests, etc, and you act on it. Set time aside to build relationships and honor that like you would commitments with your family, friends, SO. Curate their experiences. Be proactive and take initiative about sharing things with them beyond just forwards. Care.
4. You are there when they need you. The best way to be somewhere at the right time is just to be there all the time - calendar your reach outs and their big events. To my point above, be consistent, invest into relationship without expecting anything in return for a while. And don’t forget even after you’ve developed a solid relationship, you still need to work at it.
5. Not everything works out the way you want or expect it to. You have to flexible and adjust.
Thank you, very valuable and appreciate you taking the time
