Need some advice,

Currently been at Deloitte about 14 months, came in as an experienced hire with ~2 YOE. In GPS, first client was short-term, about 4 months. Now been on second client about a year. I revile the work, both content and job function. Was notified I won't be promoted this PY due to not fulfilling two full years here prior so I would be 26 months as "experienced hire" analyst.

Considering leaving the firm vs seeking better project I enjoy. Have my masters and ~4 YOE. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t leave, there’s almost always opportunities to find the right kind of work. Unfortunately it usually has more to do with your network at that level than the work you’re doing.

I’d try and network regularly (minimum of three 15-30 min meetings a week) with people in your practice and probe for where the work you want to do is happening. Continue leaning into those people and offer your time, slowly but surely you’ll start becoming a “go-to” resources for them. At your level (regardless of YOE) I’d say that’s the best way to find the work you’re doing. Rarely will senior management pull you in without some kind of proven track record or rapport, and even harder (almost impossible) to create the work on your own.

That’s good advice, I appreciate it 🙌

Also - got masters while at Deloitte. They did not pay for it.

Did the same here. I will be leaving due to slow down in business and diminished opportuity

I came into Deloitte GPS at the consultant level with 2 YOE. With 4 YOE and a masters degree, i guarantee that you are being underpaid and could get a better offer somewhere else, regardless of what Deloitte says about promoting you

People who have transitioned from consulting to industry or an objectively less demanding role (i.e working 40-45 hrs a week), what makes you feel good about your decision? But I’m so achievement-driven that I’m having a hard time taking my foot off the gas; I know seeing peers advance once I’ve stepped away will be hard. For context, I’m F and ~8 yrs away from Partner

My boss asked me what id like to do moving forward at work. The department im in has gone under many changes the past few months. I was really hoping the business would put me in a place they “need” me but instead it’s up to me…
My goal is to reach the top, climb the ladder and one day be CEO. I have a lot of outside influences that make this a possible venture.
I’m currently in sales but don’t know if the right path is to continue in.
What should I say to my boss, knowing I’m on right path?

If we’re not likely to break even with our base this year, independent of BU, does it make sense to leave now for +30-50% total comp vs biting the bullet and waiting for next year? I saw someone else do this, so imma give it a shot. Lately, I’ve been applying to iOS developer roles and I’m getting TONs of calls and callbacks from HR and recruiting managers, but then when my resume gets pushed to hiring managers they seem to often get peeved at how little years of experience I have with the title “iOS developer”…
which is fair, and to show my credibility I published my first app last week, but I’m still getting similar messages from recruiters this week. Idk what to do??
