Accenture - interviewing for Asset Management - Consultant. Coming from industry, made it onto ‘Skills Interview’ website makes it out to be an in-depth resume review. Any additional info on the process. Also, any tips moving forward in interview process, especially given industry - consulting transition. Thanks!

I would be cautious about entering especially as an associate for a few reasons.
1. If you’re not a college undergrad hire it is significantly harder to come in as an “experienced hire”, you often need more years of experience and they just tend to hire less in that area especially for A and SA
2. Lots of firms overhired after covid, leading to an influx of associates that unfortunately are having trouble finding projects since less companies are seeking consulting services with the economy rn. I have friends who joined in October and still have not been staffed to this day. When you do find projects, they’re generally very short in comparison to what they used to be, they’re about 3-5 months i’ve found, so associates are found in a constant cycle of scrambling to find a new project after rolling off until they find that internal network.
3. Lots of layoffs. Although you don’t see it in the news, every firm is laying people off, especially PwC. PwC just conducts very shady “performance” layoffs so they can still hire people and not consider them layoffs. I’ve had friends who were first year associates with great reviews be cut at 2 of the big 4 simply bc their group underperformed. When you overhire associates and don’t have a need for them, they tend to be the first one to go
Now that mostly goes for larger firms, boutiques can be different. But I would just really consider it before jumping into it
