We have a Philly office?
Philly is Digitas Health. It's not real Digitas, it's part of Publicis Health. Totally separate.
Publicis continues to collapse into one shrinking agency. The acquisition spree of digital agencies was truly a failure of epic proportions.
I haven't heard of any layoffs in the New York office. Is this certain?
As with the first round this year. There are significant problems with leadership and yet that's not where cuts are made. What a shame
I know of several creative and UX/dev roles. And a PM. Don't know about account team.
Haven't heard of any Boston layoffs yet
Good points DLBi7 about Publicis doing just as badly if it had not acquired Digitas, LBi, Razorfish, Salpient, Rosetta, MRY, etc. Buying these was an okay strategy. However, the epic failure was in the integration, or lack thereof. Publicis missed the boat on how rapidly digital would scale, and kept each agency separate for too long. Second, Publicis didn't need to buy as many of these, and at the exorbitant valuations paid, to get digital capability needed. Any one of the above digital agencies plus investment in staff development, brand, organic growth, and infrastructure was the right thing to do, rather than Publicis' shitty strategy was of owning 4 of 5 agencies responding to some RFP. Yes, you bat .800 but think of the massive duplication of effort depleting resources and grinding staff down to get there. So no, I don't blame Rosetta's leadership whose hands were tied by Paris, I still blame Paris for a lack of integration savvy.
Third round in a little over a year...
Definitely Philly. Some very good people let go, too.
S&A as well I heard
What's going on? Lose accounts?
Cutting cost maybe? Get higher ROI from lower paid employees 🤷 how does one know he/she is truly safe...
