Normalize being pissed at your Partners for losing a teammate mid-project at a crucial time because your teammate got a better offer elsewhere. We should not blame them

I know most don't blame them but we rarely blame our leaders for losing them and that needs to change.

How about we don’t blame anyone unless they’re a terrible person who made the other person leave?

We are all professionals. Many of us move around for change, new opportunities, better pay. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s ok to do that.

like

D1 - paybands at your firm are set by HR, with the blessing of Rizzo and OP leads. Even Talent Group Leaders and Offering Leaders have very little say on pay.

In other words, not all partners are equal.

Also - the Cravath scale works if there is a near-strict up or out policy, with irreplaceable talent. That’s why the top consulting firms follow it.

I’m a fan of standardized pay - but we’d need a modified cravath scale for most firms

Do you really think a cl4 has power to make material comp counters?

Comp levels set much much higher. Bummer about teammate- but that's how it goes

CL4 is Accenture terminology, Career Level 4 which is partner level onwards

I think it is more project managers than partners! The later can only chime in for year end reviews but nature of work and keeping an employee engaged is upon coach and project manager. One can feel not connected with leadership or partners but I won’t call out as their error. I’m in the boat where I’m not content with my project and pay but I wouldn’t blame the practice leadership. It’s just a thought.

When you meet with a partner for a new assignment. Do you bill for that time? I’m a new associate, so I don’t know. On the one side it seems that meeting and conferring for an assignment requested by the the client would be billable since it’s using firm time and resources. On the other side, we are just talking about how to tackle the assignment and not tackling the assignment itself.

Do you feel that in SEO there are too many ways of conducting the same tasks. I have had a string of managers within the past year, it’s starting to get very annoying as each person says method A is wrong and B is right, another manager would have the complete opposite view. Have you had similar experiences when this practice and adjustment begins to interfere with client deliverables.

Hi all.
Has anyone in
IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.

And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?

I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.

Thanks in advance
