The cohort model worked in my favor this year (only cost me a couple years of being *royally* screwed over), but I think based on the feedback from high performers, they either change the model or up the cohort salaries by next year
The high performers are going to leave if we don't fix the cohort model. They'll only take being fucked in the ass so many times. The shitty people, who can't find other jobs, are going to love the cohort model after that.
^ Good looking and athletic and mathletic AF?
Mathletic is part of the look now?
Mathletic... u wot m8?
BCG1, no. But I had to drop it here.
FY '14 6%--> FY '15 33%--> FY '16 16%--> FY '17 11%
P5 what level are you?
There we go ^ 📏
BCG2's raises are standard for the company at that level
That was first year through S2. I didn't go up for promotion this year and some were laid off. I'm thankful to have a job.
Deloitte 2, piss off... I started out making less than peers at Deloitte and kept on the grind. I'm used to getting shit from you guys by now. If I irk you, then how do the S& guys fresh out of MBA making $140k+ make you feel?
P5, you definitely came here for a pissing contest. Read OP's post and ask carefully again
13.4% finishing my first year as an associate last year. Hopefully promo this year so hoping for around 20%
P5 Deloitte MBAs make right around there post MBA too.
And so do PwC MBAs.
I know, and despite healthy looking percentage raises (or a lateral I'm guessing for OP), we're still paid less.
OP, we're in the same ballpark but it's taken me four years to get there.
P5 are you saying that non MBA pay should equal MBA pay? Not saying MBAs add proportionally more value, but that would not work at all.
^ works for us
BCG1 maybe but Big4 is a much different model
I'm not saying there should be no difference between the two, nor do I have the answers, so I'll ask you all some questions that have been on my mind recently. Can we sustain the current disparity? Should SA2s and SA3s that came in from campus doing the job they were hired for be teaching SA1s that make 30-40k more per year? Is that going to sit well with SA2s and SA3s that may have an advanced degree other than an MBA and / or other outside work experience? Should be have office-wide MBA vs. non-MBA octagon championships to determine who should be paid more?
* Should we have office-wide
It's not just consulting. Same problem in IB. Of course there is a learning curve in the beginning. We can't attract any decent MBA talent if we paid MBAs like a regular SA2. And we can't afford to pay a regular SA2 140k base. Whether it's worth hiring MBAs from a long term perspective I don't know.
