I joined in Accenture as level 8. Prior to joining, I was apporached by a project, and they seemed to not convince with my lack of knowledge about the role hence they dropped me even after contacting couple of times. Now I have got call from another one and they also seem to be not fully sure because my last role was very different. My question is how difficult is it to get a project in Accenture? Will this interviews continue? Also, what are the chances of me getting a suitable role?

That's good advice. I've seen instances of things like that, where people will eagerly betray each other to get a promotion, or sometimes just to look good in the boss's eyes. I'm usually friendly with coworkers, but I know they're not really friends.

That is exactly how I see it too. You can be cool with people and still keep the line clear in your head. What got me was how fast someone can switch when there is something to gain. That kind of thing makes it really hard to look at workplace friendships the same way after.

It's like when you leave a workplace in my experience you will only continue to talk to 5/10% of them within the next years time.

That part is real too. Once you leave, most of those connections disappear fast, which says a lot by itself. It does not mean every person is fake, but it definitely reminds me that a lot of workplace closeness only exists because you are all in the same building every day.
Seriously. I learned that lesson the hard way. Same thing happened to me and I lost my job because of it. It still makes me mad thinking about.

That is the kind of story that sticks with you. Losing your job over something like that would make anybody look at people differently after. It is one thing to hear about it happening and another to have it hit you directly. I would still be mad thinking about it too.

Learned this a long time ago. They are not friends and do not treat them as such. It’s a professional environment, it’s your job. Trust them on a professional level, within reason. Always cover yourself. And definitely don’t share anything personal or about anyone else in the workplace.

That is probably the safest way to move. Professional, respectful, but not overly open. I think that is where I land too after seeing this. You can work well with people and even like them, but once you start forgetting that work is still work, that is usually when it gets messy.
