One offer is monetarily much better than the other, what is the question you are trying to ask?

OP, I am guessing here that the B4 is EY. Kpmg and Pwc don’t have SC title and the bonus is usually mentioned as up to 17% for Deloitte consulting for SC. With that said, bonuses and raises in consulting are probably higher than industry but banks pay bonuses well too. At EY, you will probably need to get promoted before you hit 160k and that would probably take 2-3 years. At offer 2 you would probably be higher in five years too, and your bonuses will be paid respective a much higher base. Unless you hate offer 2, their offer is much better.

Offer 2. It is remote, and the pay is way better. Unless you just didn't like the people or it wasn't a good fit. There is no reason not to take Offer 2.

Even if everything else is the same, aka same company, same compensation, same wfh policy, a “senior lead data engineer” will open you to more tech jobs than a “senior consultant”, not to mention it sounds way more senior to most recruiters, whether or not that’s actually the case.

Offer 2. You will make more money over the course of 3-5 years, even assuming you get promoted to manager in 3 years with offer 1.

What’s the 10 year plan? If you know it’s Data and Banking no chance go consulting. If you’re still not sure go Consulting.

Joined D in August. For insurance I opted for a few addons amounting to 26K to be paid from my end. In my previous Organization, they would deduct these addon amounts in 4/8/12 equal instalments. In D they deducted the whole part in this months salary. Does D not have the option to deduct in instalments? The in hand salary was low and I can barely cover my fixed financial commitments and basic needs.

For those of you who spent a long time in big law (at least 10 years but more along the lines of 15+), when did you know it was time to do something else (maybe in the law, maybe not)? My company was acquired by a larger company. They offered me a more senior position outside of EA space, in an area that i know very little about, but no additional pay compensation. I also do not get equity, like at my last company. They’ll offer me a retention bonus after 1 year equal to the amount of severance they would have given if I do not take the job. Would you take the new job or take the severance and find something more in line with what I’m doing now?
