Both of them have problems in compliance at the moment so expect to be working overtime. That being said CITI will give you a higher base and lower bonus while TD will be lower base and higher bonus based on my experience with both of them.
Can anyone refer me for entry level AML Compliance roles? I have 5+ years of work experience in a different domain and considering to switch fields. Thanks in advance!
no experience with TD but can confirm Citi is messy AF. However I got a raise in both base and bonus (25%+of base) when I joined from MS, risk and compliance role. I work to live, so same job, whoever pays higher gets me.
Yeah kind of what I expect.
Citi’s toxic AF and has been in constant game of musical chair. Quite a bit of offshoring and moving to lower cost cities happening as well..so if you’re at HCOL your time will be numbered. For reference, I joined from MS and this place is a dumpster fire.
Best of luck! Keep us updated!
Went to Citi and I love it here
Why did you leave JPM. I thought it was the creme de La creme.
I don’t blame you. I’ve done contract work for JPMC and Dimon’s comments towards his employees was disgusting. It’s either his way or the highway it seems only concerned with his bottom line
TD’s compliance program is brand new, meaning more opportunities for you to grow and advance.
Citi is great but depends on the team
I would negotiate for a high base salary cos after that it’s less than 2% increase.
How in the world does TD have a new compliance program in 2025?
AML controls were virtually non-existent, hence why they got into so much trouble. Last year’s consent order has very strict terms, and they have money on the line each year directly tied to progress on AML program. Now any misstep in compliance could get dragged into that, and it’ll be a long time before they get out of this.
I’m looking at both of those companies now
I been trying to secure an offer at TD haven’t been successful thus far ,
Didn't Citi just get greenlit from the new administration not to worry about compliance anymore... Seems like a good time to join them
Do both have the same hybrid work policies?
Yeah
Am looking for those companies plz
They both are gigantic companies, and have their advantages and disadvantages. Look for anyone who knows someone in the specific are you are considering joining to get the real lay-of-the-land, and do it quickly, because Citi has pulled written offers before (I know two people who had it happen to them in the last 5 years, and me personally, about 20 years ago)
How do you pull a written offer?
