Its funny because I have had attorneys that act so much better than me and I am actually more educated than all of them. I always say we do the majority of the work. We really are the backbone of our field.

Like excellence in nursing who hold up hospitals, yes, WE as paralegals do the foot work, we bluebook, put together time lines, perform legal research, give attorneys our feedback, and master our craft with dignity, class, and honor. In my 17 years of experince, sorry, lawyers, but I have met many paralegals who run rings around attorneys for knowledge of substantive issues, mastery of legal research, and with a fabulous overall big picture of how the court system works. Kudos to all you fellow paralegals out there: hold your heads high and don't feel that lawyers are superior to you; your input and accomplishments are equally impressive and YOU ALL MATTER GREATLY. Remember that.

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.
