My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

depends on your firm. Big 4 it's much harder to originate and close work on your own, just due to the size of the clients and number of decision makers. middle markets we are usually dealing with one client contact that has authority to close the deal on their end. So one of the boxes my firm needs checked is the ability to originate and close a deal. size doesn't matter, just that you can do that. But big four ( i spent 10plus years at one), there are usually multiple contact points at a prospective client. Example, a dude made partner in my group. He "originated" work, through a controller he knee at the client. But also a senior partner at the firm had a strong connection to the CFO. It's almost never a one man game at a big four shop unless you are in the private client group. But i'll let the BIG 4 partners speak to what is needed to make partner there.
Big 4 here. Going through this now for one of the candidates. Numbers are good but they haven’t been first chair. Would likely get them deferred to next year as a result. So origination is definitely an expectation but not early on.
This is the ultimate question. You can be a lone wolf and sell a few $20M deals to make the case or join the pack and get credited.
Pick the poison and roll with it
What firm do you need to sell a "a few 20M deals" as a "lone wolf" to make partner?

Origination is key for partnership. Specially these days. The folks who can’t aren’t going to stay as Ps for long
