Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

Well, that means its a pas for them
Yeah that’s not looking in your favor
I fault the recruiter here, they should have been clear when they asked you for expected compensation. Any company that ghost me is not a company I would pursue or be interested in working for. I think you might have dodged a bullet.
We could prob find at least one reason at each big 4 not to work there. No?
how far off in comp you asked for could you have been that they went through the full process, wanted you, heard your ask on comp, then ghosted? Didn’t you know a realistic range beforehand?
I was not far out of range. Wouldn’t it be leading practice for a recruiter to round out the conversation and say either (a) no-go or (b) make a final counter?
Thanks EY1. DMing you

They may have decided to pass and go with someone else. 5 weeks is an awfully long time for a consulting firm to keep a candidate hanging especially while we are on a hiring frenzy. Also, why were you discussing comp with the Partners? I’ve never heard of anyone doing that before, it’s usually done through the recruiters. Unless that’s what you meant
What was your counteroffer?
I did have a discussion with a partner when I joined EY. I initially turned down the offer, the recruiter insisted and I said no. The partner called me later on to ask for my number, I gave it to him and he said yes. They can make decision.
EY5, why do you say that?
Keep following up OP! Took me 4 months last year during the height of COVID and would get ghosted after great feedback from interviews
Kept following up and recruiter appreciated my constant emails
Not sure why, but it seems common for experience hiring
I didn’t have an alternative offer at the time so take that into account too or I assume it would have moved a lot quicker
Campus hiring is really good, which makes sense or candidates would immediately drop out of the process
If you follow too much, you may get blacklisted. So be careful what you wish for
