I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

UBS If I had to move within the company to a different location , how does it work? For example if I move from low cost of living area to high cost of living area does the company re-evaluate the base salary within USA? Or do they come back and mention its your family requirement since your partner is located and you are moving ?Suggestions or experiences any !
McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Starting a new gig without the benefit of elevator rides, hallway chats, and coffee runs has definitely made it harder to get immersed in the culture. Particularly with a client that has a very specific POV on tone, language, and creativity.

It’s hard. Any misfire feels 10x worse because you don’t have the random relationship building moments to help assure you that they still like you even if you messed something up.
I feel lost at times because I am lacking those small convos and team comradery for a late night or bad client meeting. Tone is hard to read sometimes via email or teams
Honestly feels like I’m bumbling through it but I’m still employed so I’m definitely not screwing up as bad as my insecurity leads me to believe.
I totally feel for you. I’ve worked with a few people throughout all of this who started remotely, and it was definitely tough trying to build those relationships.
Hopefully you’re at least a part of some good/fun work.
Always takes me ~6 months to get fully comfortable. 1 year to feel autonomous. I jumped 3 months ago out of advertising and into UX/digital which has been a learning curve. That, on top of managing a team without ever meeting them in person.
You’re not stupid. Starting a new job is hard, even harder remotely.
You’re probably super dumb. 😉 Either that or you started to do something new just as society faced a seemingly never ending series of crises and now you’re struggling. You should probably give yourself a break.
Beyond that, I can tell you that in my experience this is a great place to work. If you’re really struggling or you feel isolated, none of us want that. We’re all invested in your success. If you need help, reach out.
It’s hard, I’m getting the flow now, but you miss out on happy hours, post meeting catch ups at etc that help you bond with the team.
Still riding the struggle train and I was hired last spring lol. I feel peace of mind tho knowing I’m not alone. Building relationships (internal and client) without the hallway, after meeting, etc. chats challenging and super awkward at times.
I just started and yeah, it’s bad.
Still riding the struggle bus hard. You’re not dumb. Weird times. We’ll ride it out one way or another
