PI Law Firm Pro Tip : Close your office from 12/24 to 1/1 annually, not counting toward PTO. Show appreciation for your hardworking team. Essential for firm culture and growth. We stay operational with efficient systems and tech. A well-rested team is a productive one. We’ve done it every year for the past five years and it works. Just gotta have systems and tech in place.

It’s difficult for the well-suited slave traders to get, but this is a fantastic show of respect for the humans who work in the office. I’m sure it builds a great amount of goodwill that carries throughout the year. Kudos to your firm. 👍🏻

what tech do you use and how do you keep clients from being upset and not missing calls from potential clients?

I could not agree with this more. The last place I worked at (small law firm with only two attorneys) gave us two weeks off for Christmas break every single year. It was so nice to have that time off with family and it was paid so no stressing about using PTO.

Hello All,
I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

I’m a 3rd year Associate at a fairly large injury firm. In my 2nd year my individual fees were $550k, this year I’ll eclipse $800k and next year I have $1.5mm or more lined up. (That’s just cases I signed/closed myself)
I’m the sole associate in the office, and also handle most of the training/marketing/networking in my office. My salary isn’t 6 figures and no performance incentive. At what point is it fair to ask/is it unrealistic or unreasonable to ask for some small performance incentive?
