Things are apparently going to get better after a client will be leaving, I’ll get to work on different brands but I am feeling pretty burnt out from the agency I’m at. Will new clients help? Or should I look elsewhere. Been at the agency almost 3 years, I feel like I need to switch things up for my sanity.

Got picked up for a client yesterday around 1 and was not only asked to stay late last night but to also finish my workpaper today. Prior to this no one I’ve heard at my firm has ever had to work on a Saturday. Oh, and this was my first week. Am I wrong to be annoyed with this?

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

Any advice as to how to help my other-half (who has bouts of anxiety and depression) apply to jobs? He’s going through a particularly rough patch at the moment. I have cleared conflicts but the background check won’t clear for another week. I have passed background checks at three firms, a background check by USCIS to obtain my citizenship, and haven’t committed any crimes or even a moving violation since then. Am I safe to give notice before background clears?

I am on partnership track. However a few partners I work with started to act kind of cold lately. It is hard to put it on words. But this is getting harder as it hurts my feelings. I’m at the end of my ropes with this job. I had a job at my local prosecutor’s office after the bar (class of 2017) where I made $35,000. I left after 3 months to work in private practice because I wanted to be able to survive on my salary and not live in my parent’s basement (no success there). I did criminal defense and domestic relations cases and was absolutely miserable. I quit after 3 months and went into document review and now I’m stuck.

So other than money (which is obviously very important) what’s the incentive to make partner? Is it crazy that I just want to do my work and go home to my amazing family without the added pressure of running a business and managing others? I’m only a third year (in a new practice area) so maybe the thought of being competent enough to ever be a partner just seems unrealistic. 🤷🏼‍♀️
