Possibly a very stupid question but here it goes: just accepted a an exempt position. I’m supposed to be working 40 hours a week and 1650 billable hours a year. Obviously it’ll be more hours during busy season. My question is am I still required to work 40 during non busy season as long as I get my 1650 throughout the year? Is that different from firm to firm?

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. I wanted to know your opinion on what should be the optimum level of CTC I should ask to reallocate to Amsterdam. So that I can afford to have decent lifestyle and savings.
My current CTC here in India is 36lpa with all benefits. I am senior PM.

I need your advice and assistance to choose between 2 options. I have two job offers one from India and another from Amsterdam. I am confused about choosing among them.
1. In India my gross would be 69 LPA along with my spouse out of which we save up to 20 LPA per year.

Hey guys I’m trying to figure out the market rate for a staff tax accounting position as I am new to the industry. I am looking in Long Island New York any help would be great. Looking to start at a mid sized firm.

I interviewed for KPMG on 11/15 for a Senior role and the HR emailed me on 11/16 that everyone liked me but they think I should be hired as an Experienced Associate. I had a call with the HR on 11/17 wherein we discussed about my salary expectations and the HR said he will get back in a day. It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours
