Unconventional advice: limit yourself to 24 hours of “grieving.” Start or increase your fitness regime. Start or double-down on a hobby or similar to keep your mind occupied. The job search will be 50 hours one week, and 5 the next, so use the time for growth vs. sitting at your computer doom scrolling LinkedIn since that’s supposedly “job hunting.”
Also plan for the long haul. I got canned and thought I’d be back in a matter of weeks. 4 months later I had a new job, had taught myself electrical, carpentry, and plumbing, and was in great shape although there were definitely some dark moments.
