Don't have the financial stability to take a loan for an MBA and hence had to drop some renouned admits this year (Think top IIM's) due to family circumstances. I'm almost done with my master's and right now we are discussing the knowledge gap that happens in 4th grade with our lower-class students. They know or have the skills for how to read (for the most part) but seem not to be able to comprehend what they are reading due to the fact that they don't have background knowledge like their upper-class peers - which is due to life experiences. Have you noticed this in your classes? I have but didn't realize why it was so hard to catch them up.
