Call Amex. You can get the points from your corporate card for a fee

like

Not ethical at all... but 'lose' your card a week you have to travel. You'll get reimbursed on your personal card for that

^ that so you don't entirely lose out. If you upgrade to the platinum card you get 5X points on airfare too plus the other perks like lounge access. Points still aren't as valuable as say the CSR but still better than nothing.

I'm pretty sure there 5X points are personal amex only?

For any real estate investors

22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I am set to pay off my college loans by next year and, when I do, I want to look into investing into real estate. Any books? youtubers? etc. How did you all learn about it?

I’m finally hitting a stride (now in my mid-30s) and have some cash to play around with/invest. Any suggestions or recommendations on good, long-term strategies (and/or things I should absolutely be doing) for people not familiar with having a tiny cushion of wealth? Also open to “you should hire a financial advisor, etc..”

My fiancé and I both have the CSR card and Freedom Unlimited combo and love them. We are thinking of adding another card and we were considering the Amex Platinum (to diversity transfer partners) or likely a United card for lounge access since we live in Chicago.

Does anyone else have both CSR and Amex Platinum? Would you recommend?

Junior Associates - How much student loan debt are you and your peers in these days? A few young partners and counsel at my firm were discussing the student loan moratorium and most of us were convinced we could have paid the majority of our loans off with the bonuses associates got these last two years. But we are all old and when we graduated 150k to 200k was about the max student loan debt people graduated with. So educate me. What is the average student loan debt these days?

What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. I understand that many individuals use this strategy but I think investing in index funds for the long haul is better from a wealth accumulation perspective, without even factoring in tax implications of 401k
