This is probably the toughest time for businesses in recent human history with all things going on, but you stood up for the challenge and for the people!
Tim Ryan’s firm wide call is very inspiring.
I think he said firm will honor full time offers they committed to last year interns. Join date may change..
Honestly, that was surprising. I was expecting no bonus this year at a minimum. Possibly layoffs.
It made me feel better about the firm’s commitment to the staff. Plus, the effort of making an impact in difficult issues.
If some partner is reading this. Well done.
Yes me too. Looking at the way how Tim, that Tax partner dragged the conversation to get to Compensation discussion, I had doubts. But they did a great job in the webcast not just in compensation discussion but also addressing racial discrimination in a honest, and bold way.
Wow for the first time in my Deloitte career, I feel I should have chosen wisely between the two firms. Well hopefully can correct my mistake and Jump onto the right ship.
I discussed this with my partner last week. He said a major difference is that PwC is very conservative fiscally, especially compared to Deloitte. This helps PwC keep people first through economic dips. We also became very slim from an IFS perspective over the last few years and running pretty lean overall.
Partners are reading and appreciate. PWC leadership is holding the line under what all of you know is tremendous market and economic uncertainty and pressure. I am hearing of large banks in New York offering people to take a year off or changing offers, we just made the partners we planned over the last year today!
New partners just in time for a capital call? ;)
Facetious. Happy to hear your leadership is doing all the right things.
Ex PwC and agree on the above sentiments. I especially appreciated hearing about Tim Ryan’s full throated position on BLM and feel like the firm is taking a needed and strong position.
I remember when Tim Ryan was head of audit and then got placed into what appeared to be a made up title. My junior colleagues and I though he was done and was surprised when he replaced Moritz.
I left after he was promoted but from the outside he appears to have done a pretty good job in the wake of the awful murder of Botham Jean and the current BLM movement.
Well done PwC
So to confirm, PwC will be providing their employees with raises / bonuses this year?
No raise for cohort progression- only for promotion.
I left PwC because of #3. I hear that it is still the way in my old group but I hope for those few folks who I care about that are still left there that they can thrive there and get recognized for their work.
I agree. It irks me to hear Tim Ryan speak on this topic while not fully understanding what goes on day to day amongst different groups within the firm. The biggest issue is they allow people with these behaviors to rise up within the firm and make partner and be leaders, and the problem keeps getting worse since all we do is talk and no action.
Way to go PWC
Happy for our US colleagues, but just good to be aware that not everywhere its rainbow and sunshine. Certain territories have cancelled promotions, bonuses and I even heard of paycuts
Knock on wood....
