I was that college grad who didn’t know what I wanted to do. It took a lot of figuring out and mostly a reality check for me to pivot into being an analyst. Started off as some office assistant/executive assistant role and quickly realized how much I hated working with people. I’m timid and hate having conversations daily. I then tried doing accounting and it was going somewhere. But the reality is that finance jobs will pay more so I took some online courses and applied for more analytical roles. And it led me to where I am now. Much happier with my salary, less conversations with random people, and more confident with my analytical work to make smart recommendations.
Overall, it is worth it imo.
Yes possible but it will be a lot harder as you are competing against all college grads and other degree holders. My suggestion is to never give up and continue to take any free online courses you can access, get those certifications, get those work experiences/internships even though it might not be a desirable company, make connections and network. I truly think work experience is more important than a degree but only when you have rack up a few years of experience to show on your resume.
