How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

I’ve come to the realization that I’ve made my life more difficult than necessary. Most of the advice I’ve gotten from people I trust (mostly my mom), whether solicited or not, has been accurate. I have an offer (DC) for 210 base/15% bonus/185 equity over four years, and I’m wondering what others have received, how much I can negotiate, etc. I understand base and bonus may not be negotiable, but I’ve heard that technical folks have negotiated equity packages 3-4x the amount I was offered - so is there a lot of room there?
