I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon
Don't be sad that you couldn't get through a FAANG 🤙

A good start would be getting the acronym right
The original acronym was GAFA(M), akchyually
For Microsoft just keep applying. I applied for multiple roles within 6 months until I had the right fit and made it to the offer.
Can you please help me with a referral? I have been applying for Microsoft for few months now. I am in notice period and your help will be really appreciated.
We ain’t FAANG bruh
GAFAM
I had a phone interview with an Amazon manager back in April, got dinged two days later. A recruiter contacted me in June for another role, asked if I had interviewed with Amazon in the past 6 months, I replied yes and she still pushed me through. I’m one week at Amazon now.
I think the standard is 6 months but it’s not a hard rule evidently.

You can apply to a different role 1 month late
We recommend that you wait to reapply to the same role for at least 6-12 months depending on how big your Target group is.
Personally I'd worry less about how long to wait and spend more time rounding out the skills you need to be successful. Note that I did not say practice interviewing...I said learn the skills that you need to work at faang.
Chances are it's tech or deep business skills
I prefer FAAAM (Facebook, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft)
Now Its M(META)AAM 🤣
if you have someone put you in as a referral, it often supersedes the application limit and will increase the likelihood of landing an interview by 10-100x. if i can be of further help, reach outt o me on linkedin. https://www.linkedin.com/in/alanjstein/
Generally 12 months is advised for Google
Amazon is typically 6 if it’s for experience or just a bad interview.
If it’s due to major concerns related to leadership principles they may allow you to apply but they’ll flag you and it’ll never advance.
It’s seems like the Amazon folks on here are really pressed about OP not getting the acronym right, lol

That’s because when someone says they work at FAANG it’s usually amazon. 😂
People forget apple all the time; it happens. And Salesforce rule of thumb is 3 apps per year, so without a referral maybe that?
Apple isn’t centralized. We hire by team, so no real time limit
I applied for multiple roles at Facebook within a 6 month time frame and ended up going through one interview but didn’t make the final cut. A week after that I got contacted about a different role. So I’m assuming they’re not centralized and don’t have one model they follow when hiring.
Does the N of FANG stands for Microsoft?

Dont think there’s any point in applying more than 3 times / year for different roles if your resume doesn’t change. Make sure you get a referral so they’ll at least look at your CV
Not yet.. still doing leetcode. Plan to apply in another 2-3 weeks, at least when I feel more confident.
Google told me to come back in 18months
Amazon said 6 months

Ridiculous from google considering hiring is so hard.
You can always try applying within a different business line within Amazon
AWS is pretty much a separate entity, isn't it?
I'd give it at least six months to a year. They keep your resume on file so sometimes they might reach back out to you if you got far enough in the interview stage.
it's different for each companies, and there are definitely work-arounds. if i can be of further help, hit me up on LinkediN as I check that more frequently than I am here on fishbowl: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alanjstein/
