Question: Is it worth transitioning from implementation consulting to strategy consulting? Currently completing my MBA and the salary ranges for strategy consulting positions are less than my current salary as a implementation consultant.

I made the switch from implementation to strategy and do not regret it. It depends on goals. In my experience, strategy pays MUCH more than implementation at a similar tier. I did not see implementation firms paying the same rates as strategy firms at a C/M level. It’s just different type of work and clientele. Moving from more operational/on the ground to more organizational/high level work.

Yes they have a Strategy & Transformation practice group but it’s more specific to life sciences

Should a DevOps Cloud Engineer with 2 years experience earning around 10 LPA (base salary) in a Fortune 200, switch to a startup which pays almost 20 LPA base salary? The reason to ask this question is, wouldn't it be difficult at the time of second switch, to move to another big organisation after one is already at 20-24 LPA with just 3-4 years of experience at a startup? All thoughts are welcome.

Is it so wrong to want to specialize in a certain area of corp fin after reaching a comfortable point in your career? Being on the "CFO track" and avoiding "pidgeon-holing" are terms used by management to pressure employees into taking roles they don't have an interest in. I get the theory behind it, but it's not a one-size fits all. I think ideally it can cultivate a finance leader for the future, but more realistically/frequently it leads to disassociation and burnout.
