Quick question: in the realm of tax practice, how is the work of completing and filing Employee Retention Credits for client businesses viewed? Complex? Routine? Profitable? Ancillary? Is it time consuming? Straightforward or requiring a lot of detail oriented analysis??

To us or to clients? Depends on the client and their leadership. While its tax credit earned, leadership may not be on board with the engagement and have the rest of team slow down the process. Its somewhat straightforward but requires a bit of pbc gathering, data modeling, and interviewing. Its an ancillary work that is phasing out.

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law
