Parents - do any of you truly regret having kids?

For those of you working from home, do you know whether your coworkers will be throwing a baby shower for you? I feel like without being visibly pregnant to most people (since we are not in the office), I feel like I’m going to miss out on having one which is kind of a bummer since I’ve always gotten gifts for others.

Has anyone taken STD/parental leave at both Js?

Need recommendations for a baby shower lunch menu. Planning a party for around 25-30 people and confused about what the menu should be.

My husband said he would buy me a Rolex as a “push present” for our first child. I would want just a classic, timeless (no pun intended) looking ladies Rolex watch that I can wear for many years to come. Suggestions on a style? Parents- how much are you saving for your kids? Married mid 30s and family income is around 200k. We both max employer 401k. Have around 30k debt. Lcol and low mortgage. Would you pay off debt- or focus on kids savings? Oldest kid is 7 years out from college and will have some VA benefits.

Are there any parent fish in this bowl? What sites have you used to setup nanny or babysitting services?

I don't have any friends in banglore. It is hard for me to find friends cause i am always that aloof kid who in addition is not straight so can't even bond with my teammates. How do people live like this. Even my flatmates don't talk . : (

How common are leaves of absence in PA? I’ve never seen someone out of work longer than a couple weeks other than for parent leave, but people on fishbowl talk about it as something you can reasonably ask for.

So I just moved states. I’m staying with a parent for a while in a pretty large house and my cat keeps hiding for hours on end (I think to snooze). Any thoughts? She’s spent time with me and I walked around with her while she explores. And she’s ventured solo. Seemed she’s warming up well. Except this again. I admit it’s giving me horrible anxiety that she won’t respond at all until I locate her because even I’m learning where things are and want her to be safe. This is the third time 😭

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

My husband and I regularly attend (virtually lately) a church we love, however there’s not a great way for us to connect by way of a small group (We’re in our late 20s and I’d say the average age in our church is 50 so all the groups are geared towards parents with adult children, things like that). How do you find ways to connect outside of church?

Our god is an awesome god 🙌 feeling like it’s easier to get through the rough times. Can finally go to church and worship after so long that I couldn’t!!

Does anyone have tips regarding attending social events, such as happy hours with coworkers and express that drinking isn’t my preference?
With me being the only one on my team who doesn’t drink, it causes me to stick out, and others constantly question why I’m not drinking.
It kind of deters me from attending work events, but I know there’s a lot of benefitting in being around.
