Focus on your life and your career and leave the rest to Karma.
Please mention it to HR. We take it very seriously and look for similar complaints against repeat offenders. Losing top talent is unfortunate and if the reason is poor management, at least we will know why
Those things are never reported to the accused. HR takes it as sour grapes.
I can't believe people are saying you shouldn't be honest. That's the problem with public accounting. No one has the guts to stand up for themselves and it just makes things worse for everyone else in the office.
or should i walk out diplomatically for the sake of my future?
Agree with the above ^^^ when I left my senior was extremely unprofessional and acted in ways that were unbelievable during busy season and I didn't retaliate in any way and am letting karma handle that one. I mean it's karma alone sitting in your misery at the big four knowing you are unhappy which is exactly where she's at. Projecting her unhappiness on everyone else because she doesn't have the balls to leave. I digress.
Leave it to "karma." Wouldn't HR taking the accusations seriously and disciplining them be karma? 🤔
Depends on that they did. If bad enough to truly be called atrocious, expose them now. Once you give notice they'll think you are just pissed but it'll at least be on record for the next person that makes the same accusation.
It’s really not worth it
Personally, I wouldn't say anything. If it was truly bad enough, you should've said something before heading out the door.
I didn’t give the info in my exit interview because I wanted to maintain relationships and keep the door open to return. A day after quitting I realized I’d never in a million years go back and regretted not informing HR of the extremely unprofessional behavior of others.
I think people would be surprised with what HR does with the information they are given - it is usually confidential so nobody sees or hears it but I can tell you, it is typically actioned. Unfortunately, being an ass is not against the law and all to often, we have people who are just that. But if your accusations rise to the level of either illegal behavior or behavior that violates our code of conduct, There are consequences.
If you’re leaving PA then report it. It’s unfortunate that it probably won’t make a difference but leaving it documented might benefit someone in the future.
Sour grapes. That’s all your complaint will be at the cost of burning bridges.
EY6- go to another HR person or call the ethics hotline.
Yes mention to HR. Especially if part of the reason you are leaving
Yes, in a constructive, professional way
What if the HR "helped" to throw you under the bus? Who should you tell?
What if it was a partner?
It is even worse if it was a partner- that puts the whole firm at risk. It should be reported.
