I agree I think you should take the offer and run! Loved my time at EY and you’ll love it too coming from D. People and culture are much more chill :)
Don’t look at the sort term gains. Salary will normalize for a particular level as you spend more time with a particular firm. While compensation is an important factor, also think about the type of work, work culture overall, long term growth prospects in the organization. You might get a higher salary but may other things may not work out.
Although this person has a point about aspects to consider other than purely compensation, time value of money is a thing. Being better compensated now is usually better than compensation evening out later.

Don’t. Say hello to the EY folks!

This is what all the EY people understand. Everyone in the EY bowl is complaining we didn’t get off-cycle raises like D and PwC but they don’t understand that EY pays more to begin with. I was at D. I would be making $89k as an SC1. Instead EY offered me $140k. D wouldn’t even match my current EY salary when I tried to boomerang
RSM - you need a calculator, the difference is 51k, why would you approximate it to 60k?
If the EY is aligned with your career area you should accept, and if not…then still go and continue to work towards what are aligned to!
Take it
Welcome my guy/gal
How many YOE? That’s crazy money bruh what the hell
What group ?
Rising Star
YOE?
~3.5 YOE with STEM Master’s
What practice group in Deloitte and to which in EY?
Take it! No risk-it, no biscuit! The time is now.
Unless they answer the YOE question I would assume it’s cap lol
Also curious about practice group. That makes a difference too
Can someone explain to me why everyone thinks it’s so crazy that EY offered 130k? Does EY not pay well or something..?
Is it people being shocked that EY offered this much or that it's such a difference from what Deloitte offers?
I did the same thing. Got a decent bump during the mid year. Still left for S& for a 50k raise.
Compare the total benefits. Coming from EY I felt like sometimes they’d raise salary because of cheaper benefits. I may be wrong though
If they’re offering you the work you want AND higher money. Move. Most people don’t get that many wins.
Can I be ask what your role is ?
