I think that’s a low ball offer. I think they just had a comp adjustment and most Cs are around 95k base
Definitely a lowball offer. I’ve seen some consultants in the 95K-100K range even on the govt. side. Just not sure how to approach the negotiation aspect
I'm a C1 @ 102.5 +13k bonus. Joined in Feb of this year, from making 75k @ Booz Allen. Started at 100 + 5k starting bonus. When they offered 85k+5k, I counteroffered and said I was already well compensated and said I was really looking for 105-110 TC if I was going to move at this time. Worked. Don't be afraid to state your preference, just don't close off avenues if you are willing to accept a little bit less than your preference states - but def don't move for so little unless you are passionate about the new role
Sorry no, but I basically just do PMO stuff so the pay band shouldn't be too different
The advantage of Deloitte GPS HC is that you have outstanding WLB. The cost is that they pay you less than anywhere else in consulting. So you have to decide what you care about.
For reference I've been in GPS HC for six years and average 30-40 hrs per week and work on a weekend maybe 3-4 times per year. I've never put in more than 70 hours in one week, including travel time back and forth from CA.
Update: they are unwilling to budge. Looks like I’ll have to decline the offer. So upsetting.
Sorry OP. Hope you have better luck elsewhere!
Just tell them it's not worth your time moving for a 5% increase in base
I highly doubt this negotiation will end well given gow badly, and obviously, they are low balling you. I would counter with 115k and absolutely walk away if you don't get 100k. Plenty of other places that will pay you that, including Booz.
That’s the plan
