It's not too soon BUT do not quit.
Start looking for something else. Once you have it you can quit, but the job market sucks right now. Unless you know you can go without a paycheck for at least 6 months, I would stay put for now.
Yes definitely wouldn’t quit with nothing lined up. I lost my long term job, which is how I landed here, in a panic out of desperation. Was hoping I would learn to like it but I’m not sure that will happen.
I would def find another job first, because it could take you a year to find another. Reading so many posts here, many cannot find a replacement after they have been laid off! Good luck to you!
Absolutely. Thank you
I'm looking for 8+ months now. I would definitely recommend having something before leaving what you have. Do you have the option to take up a class or something to fill some time? I know many companies have online training that is free so you can get paid for some certifications that will make you more money.
I can do some online trainings (free ones) but I’m also currently sitting in a conference room that may have someone else here every once in a while - there is no office space for me
It certainly makes it difficult to stay engaged if you’re not learning. Is it the pace of tasks, or the tasks themselves that contribute to being “bored”? There is always something to learn, or expose yourself to, that could introduce you to other avenues, or opportunities beyond just doing a job. Be curious, ask questions.
Otherwise, relish the fact you have a job, and hopefully earning an income, AND that you may not have to take everyday stressors home. Also, use the commute to your advantage to learn something new (listening to podcasts, books, etc.)
But agree that having another opportunity in hand PRIOR to making a change is a much better position to be in.
But how long did it take u to get this job ? With the travel do u make more then ur spending ? The pros and cons are what you need to weigh up!
That i can understand and it makes sense. I had to scarface alot when getting my new job but I realized who I'm making the sacrifice for ? Is it me or my family. If I can provide for them by making money while not being around i will.
Just make sure you made the right choice qnd have something lined up
I need job
