Recently received an internal job offer for an L8 role, which is a promotion for me. However, the recruiter mentioned they can’t promote me until June and would only give me a $1k raise now to “put me into the L8 bracket”meaning I’ll be at the bottom of the pay band. Then in June when the new promotion cycle begins they would actually give me the L8 role with a 15-20% raise. Does this sound accurate/truthful or am I being played?
