Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

The moment indicate that anything was toxic or negative, you run the risk of damaging your chances at the new opportunity. They don’t care about your previous mgmt., work environment, or your feelings — they only want to know what value you can bring to this role so don’t showcase drama and resentment.
Excellent suggestions. It is a challenge however to keep a positive viewpoint when the toxicity itself is what caused the tenure to end. Hard to balance that unfairness.
Presuming this was your most current role
After 8 years, I had pretty much topped out given their current structure and team. As I work pretty intensely, and since I won't interview during work hours, I decided an amicable exit was best for both parties. I look at this time as both a sabbatical and an opportunity to focus on finding the right team and organization for my next 8 to 10 years.
Thank you EVERY one for your kind and helpful suggestions. This worry solved😇

Just explain that you're looking for new growth opportunities.
I appreciate the position, work experience and skill growth i acquired at ABC Company. However, I feel that I need to grow and learn more in these areas (list them out) and you/your company are/is offering (position you've applied to) where I believe i can put my current skill set to use to help grow and strengthen your team but to also learn (skill set or two you may not have) from the position/company.
