You should be applying aggressively now, if you haven’t been already. IMO you can be candid with employers that your role is being eliminated but that you are employed as of right now. I’d much rather a candidate be transparent about a layoff. But don’t wait for severance to start looking.
I've been applying to roles I'm interested in but have been selective. Definitely have not been applying aggressively but that's my plan now that it is getting closer.
Plan on meeting with supervisor again soon so looking for advice on how to approach that meeting. Other than trying to get solid answer about severance, what other things should I be asking about? Advice from anyone who has been through this? What should I know or look into? Never been in this situation. If there is a gap in employment, will future employers view this negatively? Anything is appreciated!

what were the signs before the layoff and what company are you in?
Won't disclose company but it has grown quite a bit over the last few years so there's been a lot of restructuring and reorganization leading to layoffs in various departments, many of which were propelled by a return to office mandate.
