Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.

Bain & Company Is there a cool down at Bain even if you don’t make it past the resume screen? Applied a couple months ago on a whim (and a referral from a friend) having no experience with anything business/consulting related as a lateral (only had experience in research prior). Since then have had 2 months at a t2 firm plus some biz dev for a startup. I’m aiming to reapply at 6 months. For context graduated from a t10 school and thought I wanted to go to med school for a little bit lol. Bain & Company

Concur.
Why do you feel underpaid? You’re objectively well compensated with someone with such little experience.

May Claude eat your career.
That’s not underpaid, assuming you’re not at MBB/LEK/other high burn places
You’re a child. You’re overpaid - stay put.
$300k not in base but in total comp, yes. Isn’t this a consulting forum? This is all common knowledge…..
What do you do? What value do you bring?
Honestly, you are way above what I’d pay
I think a lot of peers who went to MBB type firms are now at EM level making significantly more by now. I chose a specialized firm and regret it I guess.

Never look back, nothing there for you. You can't change the past, regrets will just hold you back. If you chose you could instead focus on all the peers who chose others paths who are making way less than you.
And news flash if you always measure against those you know who are making the most, you will always come up short. Measure against yourself and your goals.
And chances are you have had way more fun and more of a life outside of work. Would you really trade it?
If you're in NYC this is basically poor
Exactly. And I’m on the other coast in an AI bubble. Basically in poverty (joking but really sf is bad rn)
You’re benchmarking yourself to very specific careers in completely different industries (eng / pm at big tech, high finance). In terms of consultants and frankly the rest of the market, you’re probably in the top 5-10% for your YOE. This is all to say you’re not underpaid for your role and just because you have friends who make more doesn’t mean you don’t make a lot already. If you want to make more make it happen, but don’t expect your current firm to pay you more.
