Just to continue you should be paid on the value you bring. The fact you pull six figures only 4 years in industry and you didn’t go to college makes you unique. There is something more happening here.
OP you are already rocking it. Impressed with your numbers, keep it up!
I am “lacking in college”... also I am a manager up for promotion and earn almost 200k. It happens
Here come the good news! My 130k counter offer was accepted😀
Depends on experience. 100k + is not unreasonable for respectable talent
Did you go to Berkeley or cal state xyz. Did you get a 4.0 and do research or drink beer and fail
Based on data points you are an exception to the rules. Hard to advise without knowing you. Ultimately I’d encourage you to play the ivory tower game or bail on working for others. A glass ceiling for lacking college will eventually find you if you dream of management
Counter. Ultimately sounds like you need a different position. The only reason to take less is if you really want the job or need out of your current firm
Strange nobody has asked this as it makes a difference. Are you an architect or admin role? The difference in salary is big. Admin with years 80k is good. Architect/engineering with 2-4 years is 130k. Less is an insult.
80k is low for development work at a top 10 tech firm. Does Salesforce not pay well compared with other big tech firms? 80K in SF is not much money or even in a place like Indianapolis or Philadelphia. 80K is really low imho. Jist sayin...
Incredible, congrats OP!
$4000000000
@M1 I am really looking for some insight!
OP, how many yrs of experience/what level would you go in at?
^ 4 years+ offer is from industry and it is nowhere near 100k+
^Level not sure - I will be the only person supporting their project as SME
4 years. 80k
My 80k is Plus or minus. Depends on talent and schooling.
In Bay Area MAYBE you can squeeze closer to 100k if you have a lot to offer, but on average I definitely agree with S1. 80ish k would be good.
I am already making 100+ and not sure what do you mean by schooling?
