Scored a new job offer, but the fine print is giving me a headache! The base salary's decent, but what about PTO, CME allowance, student loan repayment, and those elusive "other benefits"? What's the best strategy for getting the most out of my new gig without overplaying my hand?

Do your research! Use resources like the AAPA Salary Report to get a realistic picture of what PAs in your specialty and location typically make, including benefits. Once you know your worth, you can negotiate confidently. Focus on the things that matter most to you – is it more PTO, a higher CME allowance, or help with student loans?

Express your excitement about the opportunity, but be transparent about your questions and concerns about the benefits package. Frame it as a conversation, not a confrontation. Highlight how a stronger benefits package would make you an even more engaged and productive employee.

Remember that negotiation isn't just about salary and immediate benefits. Ask about opportunities for professional growth, advancement within the company, and future compensation reviews. Show them you're invested in your career and their practice for the long haul.

My HRBP dose not respond at all I've been trying to contact her from weeks and there's no response to any of mails nor pings on teams. I really appreciate you for helping me fill this?

If the stock market were to tank, incl. all these ridiculous tech valuations, how do you guys think compensation packages will move in competitive fields such as IBD, consulting, big tech?

Based on current environments, I’ve two hypotheses:
1. Comp packages in competitive fields will continue strongly due to: a. less supply of top talent (great resignation), b. less willingness to work demanding jobs (push for wlb), and c. Rising living costs - inflation
2. Comp packages will get readjusted…

Hello all,

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

-Thanks
