Ugh, such a tricky situation. I’d document everything you’ve done to manage expectations and escalate internally. Maybe propose a proactive plan to address the client’s concerns. If the CEO finds out, having receipts and solutions will show you’ve done your part.
Pull in your manager right now to provide you with cover and perhaps flex their title and influence.
I would be as communicative with my manager as I can be about what’s going on. I would also start a file folder on my Outlook where I have “proof” for a lack of a better term that shows all the ways I tried my hardest to be on top of the deliverables.
Thanks! Great advice. I just put together a doc summarizing that sort of thing and sent to my supervisor, so feeling better about having myself covered and my side communicated at a minimum. Appreciate your response!
