McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Like any city, it is what you make it I think. The sore spots are a little bit worse here, but you can make it work and typically the agencies here will pay pretty well. I love all the good parts of SF. The food is incredible, the people active and friendly, and you only have to go a little ways out of the city to find nature, something I find extremely important!
I wouldn’t live in San Francisco because of the homeless problem. And considering I live in NYC, that’s saying something
It’s real and much worse than I had anticipated before moving here
Extreme wealth inequality creates unrest. SF is suffering the consequences of that. Tech bros have usurped what liberal, diverse people started in the 70s.
It’s a liberal paradise, what are you right wing fascist nuts talking about? Where’s your compassion?
Yes. It is bad
The homeless situation is truly worse than any other city I have lived in.
It depends on the neighborhood but yes, it’s pretty bad
It’s pretty bad. I wanted to move out there, but after visiting like 4 times and talking to friends who lived out there; I quit that dream.
Everytime I went it was just dirty and homeless and for the cost of living, why would I do that?
It’s real and it’s bad. I’m happy to hear you’re able to coexist and still love the city. I had to leave it. Being constantly confronted with the suffering of others at every corner while stepping over needles and human feces on the daily made it real hard to justify paying so much to live there.
It deserves the reputation
Nothing like an impending, doomsday earthquake to shake things up too.
It depends on your priorities. If you like nature you could stay and enjoy. If culture is more your thing, likely elsewhere is better for you. The homeless problem is pretty devastating.
SF is the only city I’ve been in where I almost came to blows with a homeless person. He was walking 2 inches behind myself and a female colleague and after a block or two, I turned around and told him to give us some space and he went nuts. No way was I going to tangle with someone who has nothing to lose in a city that can’t police itself. It’s never happened to me anywhere else
I’ve wanted to move there as well, but the politics, bums 💩 in the street, and the large number of car windows smashed has deterred me.
