Shortly after I joined my current firm, I realized there are SO MANY issues and also partners and associates didn’t tell truth when they interviewed me. Our firm bowl is a completely disaster. Every single comment is negative. From attorneys to staff everyone is desperate to leave. Is it too quick for me to plan to run away? I started in March.

Run now, to avoid gaps in your resume and don't include this firm on your resume. Throughout my 40 years of working law, there is NOT ONE law firm that wasn't toxic and dysfunctional. I'm only in it for the paycheck. In four years, I am out and will through one HUGE party! Perhaps you might consider leaving law all together.

Your reply is so on point, even in-house is toxic, its the atmosphere, the attorneys are so toxic and insecure. The management doesn't help. I like your perspective with 40 years experience.

You must be working for Morgan and Morgan lol

What’s Morgan and Morgan?

If you have big doubts like that then put your walking shoes on and go the other way. We basically live at work so you will want to be somewhere you fit and can work together as a team. Jobs are meant to be enjoyed and those that say otherwise STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Yeah, I have changed my LinkedIn status to Open to Work and started looking again. People at this firm, both attorneys and paralegals, are seriously unhappy. Every post and comment is so negative but some partners (they commented with their title) keep responding those posts say “this is fake” or “just shut up and stop.” Can’t believe this is a big law.

Nope. I don't let the length of time at a firm determine my misery cutoff!

What is going on with recruiters? I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not even an email back saying “something came up” or “we’ve moved on” ? I’ve been ghosted after every final interview during my recent job search, but never had I been ghosted before even having the first call??

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

Hey, does anyone work for Jacobowitz Newman Tversky? Would love to know more about the office and culture .

I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!
