It's great interviewing practice
I’d never say no to making a connection. You never know what could come of it.
No. Unless you are upfront. Otherwise it’s wasting time.
Yeah, this would kind of piss me off, as a hiring manager.
I got a fixed term contract turned into a permanent role. You have to ask why it's open as a temporary job and ask them if they see the need for it evolving in the future
In my case they needed it to be permanent but because of the pandemic, temp is all finance would sign off
I wouldn’t
Interviewing is harmless. But what’s your end goal?
Yeah go for it. Or maybe juggle it alongside your current gig and negotiate a couple of months in.
Chief
Money is money.
Are you unemployed now? If so I’d say interview, and if accepted take it (even if unsuccessful in negotiating FT) then keep looking and when you find a FT gig tell them goodbye.
Since you already have a FT job then this is tricky... if you interview, they offer, then you decline because they won’t do FT, that could be a burnt bridge.
Either don’t interview and wait until they offer a FT job for you to apply for, or ask for an interview but let them know upfront you are really interested in FT employment with them. Maybe make that a part of the interview process. Good luck!
For me, it would depend. If the temp position is with a place you’d absolutely love to work at and you’re not fully satisfied with where you’re at, then fuck yeah.
If not, then no.
I guess it just depends on whether or not you have the means to picky.
