Hi All, I have 3.5 yrs of experience in Product Management and I'm interviewing at JP Morgan chase for Senior Product Manager role and Product Manager role, for Seattle Location. What kind of salary range should I give for each role when the recruiter pops up this question? JPMorgan Chase
Microsoft, Salesforce, Amazon? Same TC.
I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

When I was negotiating my offer at Facebook in 2019 they told me they didn't have a sign-on bonus, but when I played hardball and told them I wasn't impressed with the initial offer, a sign-on bonus magically appeared (along with a much higher base and RSU grant). It was a situation though where they had reached out to me, and it was a hard to fill role, so I had more leverage than someone who applied on their own.
Not every place offers it but you can always ask if it isn't being advertised that they have one. I have seen people negotiate it into their offer when there wasn't originally a bonus on the table.
It really depends on the company and timing. Sometimes it's available, sometimes it's not, sometimes people are savvy and get it in negotiation.
I agree. I negotiated my sign on the last time.
Being upfront about expectations can go a long way with initial recruitment. It's like any bargain, though what you're offering is your skillset and knowlege base. If you're getting a lot of offers its because you're a plume pick, and you should be able to talk openly about whether they're offering sign in bonuses from the get-go.
